MECHANICAL / ELECTRICAL
TROUBLESHOOTING
“There are many unique aspects to the preservation & maintenance of a classic vehicle - their needs and requirements are completely different than a modern car.”
A classic machine is made up of a myriad of mechanical and electrical parts working in perfect sync. Engineers and designers in the early 1900s likely did not foresee their inventions living on a century later, as every invention is engineered to have a desired lifespan. When something does break - and all machines eventually do - working through the problem and ensuring it is properly fixed to original manufacturer's specification takes an experienced, methodical approach.
On top of offering start-to-finish car and bike builds, The New York Speed Shop is geared to also assist the “hobbyist” car builder, who may not have the skillset or specialty tools required for a particular portion of the restoration or modification process. In far too many instances, “band-aid” repairs are made on classics - altering a car's original performance standard or masking the underlying problem with a quick fix. NYSS has the knowhow to solve these issues in a timely manner without sacrificing quality, allowing the hobbyist to “subcontract” this work to a professional, so he/she can focus on the portions of the car building process they are more comfortable with.
